He suggested that the club may have overpaid for their summer signings and could face another season battling in the relegation zone if results do not improve.

Despite the current struggles, former Brighton striker Glenn Murray argued that manager Roberto De Zerbi needs time to implement his vision. "He is trying to build something, it will take time," Murray said, pointing to positive underlying metrics such as shots and possession in recent games as signs of potential improvement.

De Zerbi defended the club's transfer window, citing market complexities and financial fair play regulations as reasons for their strategy. He stated that the club and coaching staff are aware of the players' characteristics and made decisions based on what was feasible.
