Tom Brady Believes Patrick Mahomes Is Back to His Best

Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion, has declared that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is returning to his top form. Brady, who now publishes NFL power rankings, placed the Chiefs at No. 7 and expressed confidence in Mahomes' current performance.

"I think, in a lot of ways, he's back to [being] Patrick Mahomes," Brady said in his power rankings. "His leadership, discipline, tenacity — all of those things were on display. He's going to pick up some steam. He's missed some football, missed a lot of the offseason. But never sleep on No. 15 for the Chiefs."

Mahomes' statistics in the Chiefs' 31-10 victory over the Denver Broncos on Monday night included 184 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception on 15 of 27 completions. He also contributed a 15-yard rushing touchdown, a play reminiscent of his signature style.

Brady noted that while other players, such as Kenneth Walker III, who rushed for a career-high 173 yards, were statistically dominant in the game, his focus remained on Mahomes. Brady, who experienced a similar recovery from an ACL injury during his career, offered endorsement for the Chiefs' quarterback.

Brady emphasized that the Chiefs should not be underestimated, especially with Mahomes back under center. "Why are we counting them out? Never count them out," he stated.

The former quarterback concluded by highlighting the enduring formula for success in the NFL: a strong organization built on winning, a championship-caliber coach, and an elite quarterback. "I always felt like when you've got a great coach and you've got a great QB, and that organization has championship standards … watch out, man."
