Tkachuk Brothers Achieve Historic NHL Feat as Panthers Dominate Blue Jackets

Brothers Matthew and Brady Tkachuk combined for a historic performance on Tuesday night, as Brady scored a hat trick with all three goals assisted by Matthew, powering the Florida Panthers to a dominant 7-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Tkachuk brothers, who also recently helped Team USA win Olympic gold, have quickly established a formidable presence together in the NHL.

In just their seventh game of the season, Brady Tkachuk's offensive outburst occurred within an 8:03 span of the second period. He not only completed the hat trick but also added an assist, while Matthew contributed two other assists, bringing their combined point total to nine in the game. Brady's four points in the second period also made him and Matthew the third and fourth players in Panthers franchise history to achieve a four-point period.

Brady Tkachuk's hat trick marks a significant NHL achievement, making him the ninth player in league history to record a hat trick with every goal assisted by his brother. This feat has not been seen since Daniel Sedin received similar assistance from his brother Henrik in 2015. The brothers' chemistry was also evident earlier this year during the 4 Nations Face Off tournament in 2025, where they made an immediate impact against Canada.

The Tkachuks' recent success follows their gold medal victory with Team USA at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. This marked the United States' first men's Olympic hockey gold medal since 1980. Their Olympic triumph came after a hard-fought overtime gold medal game against Canada.
