Tiger Woods Poised for Golf Return in December
After over two years away from professional play, the 15-time major champion is slated to participate in the TGL season.
Tiger Woods is reportedly on track to make his return to professional golf on December 27, marking his first competition in over two years. The 15-time major winner is expected to play for his Jupiter Links Golf Club team in the opening match of the new TGL season, facing off against the Los Angeles Golf Club. This event will be broadcast on ABC.
Woods has not competed in a professional event since missing the cut at The Open in 2024 at Royal Troon. His absence from the sport has been attributed to injury problems and a DUI arrest in Florida in March. He played only one match in the previous TGL season due to back surgery, later returning for the TGL Finals where his team was defeated by Los Angeles.

Woods' return is contingent on avoiding any further injury setbacks. In recent weeks, he has been seen ramping up his preparations, with photos emerging of him hitting balls at Monterey Peninsula Country Club and Liberty National.
Alternative return dates are also possible. Woods could potentially participate in the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas from December 3-6, an event he hosts. Additionally, he might play alongside his son Charlie in the PNC Championship in Orlando, scheduled for December 17-20.
Kevin Kisner, a fellow professional golfer, indicated Woods' readiness to return, noting that Woods expressed a desire to play a full schedule. Kisner's own departure from the Jupiter Links team was reportedly part of the team's decision-making process to accommodate Woods' potential participation.

In September, Woods pleaded no contest to charges stemming from his March DUI arrest and received a five-year driving ban. He had been nearing a return to golf and was considered a potential participant in The Masters prior to the incident.
Separately, Woods' relationship with his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, has reportedly strengthened. The couple, who began dating in March 2025, have navigated personal challenges, including Woods' DUI and Trump's breast cancer diagnosis. Sources suggest they are discussing marriage, with their shared experiences deepening their bond. Trump recently celebrated completing cancer treatment, with Woods and her children present.
