Tiffany Stratton Wins Women's Money in the Bank Match Despite Dangerous Ladder Fall
The WWE star landed on her head during a risky maneuver but was cleared to continue and secured the championship opportunity.
WWE superstar Tiffany Stratton won the Women's Money in the Bank match on Saturday, securing a championship opportunity at WrestleMania, despite a frightening fall that saw her land on her head. The incident occurred when Stratton attempted a swanton bomb off the top of a 15-foot ladder, aiming to land on three competitors below.
An alternate camera angle revealed that the ladder shifted as Stratton jumped, causing her to fall shorter than intended and connect directly with her head. She was immediately seen clutching the back of her head in pain, and the arena fell silent as fans feared a serious injury.
After being examined by on-site medical staff, Stratton was cleared to continue the match. She proceeded to win, climbing the ladder to retrieve the Money in the Bank briefcase, making her the first two-time winner of the women's match.
Post-match, Stratton acknowledged the pain, stating, "My neck still hurts, but I wanted to do anything it took to get that briefcase." She explained her decision to continue, telling medical staff she was okay and that "what's a ladder match without Tiffy in it?" She powered through the remainder of the match, which ultimately proved successful.
While some spectators attributed the botched spot to the wrestlers below failing to catch Stratton properly, wrestling analyst Bryan Alvarez suggested the setup itself was inherently flawed. He explained on Wrestling Observer Radio that the ladder was positioned sideways, and Stratton's jump direction caused the ladder to shift, leading to her uncontrolled fall.
Stratton, who also won the Money in the Bank match in 2024, will now challenge for a championship of her choosing at next year's WrestleMania.
