Terry Bradshaw Spills Coffee, Denies Responsibility on Fox NFL Set
The Hall of Fame quarterback caused a stir by knocking over his drink and playfully blaming his colleague.
Chaos briefly erupted in the Fox NFL Sunday studio when veteran analyst Terry Bradshaw accidentally spilled his coffee, dousing the notes of fellow analyst Curt Menefee. The incident occurred as Bradshaw was discussing the upcoming Denver Broncos vs. San Francisco 49ers game.
Bradshaw, gesticulating with his right hand, knocked his coffee cup over the desk, with the liquid spilling onto Menefee and his prepared notes. "You okay, bud?" Bradshaw asked after the spill. Menefee responded, "Yes," adding, "Speaking of comebacks, I'll be back."
As Bradshaw attempted to clean up the mess, he insisted, "Alright, go ahead, keep talking." He then continued his analysis of the Broncos' recent performance and the 49ers' injury concerns, ultimately picking the 49ers to win the matchup.
However, the incident wasn't over. After Bradshaw finished his segment, Michael Strahan commented, "I've never seen you knock your coffee over." A defensive Bradshaw replied, "I didn't do that," pointing at Menefee and claiming, "He did that!"
Menefee protested, "How did I knock the coffee over on myself?" as Bradshaw insisted, "You pulled it." Rob Gronkowski chimed in with a joke about Bradshaw's movement. Fox later shared slow-motion footage confirming Bradshaw was indeed the one who spilled the coffee.
The 78-year-old Bradshaw has faced recent scrutiny over his on-air performance, leading to speculation about his future. However, Bradshaw has stated he has no immediate plans to retire. "Retirement is not something that… I mean, I may not be with Fox. That would be their call, not mine," he said in June. He also expressed a belief that staying active is key to longevity, citing Reverend Billy Graham's view that retirement can be a precursor to decline.
Menefee, a long-time colleague, has dismissed the retirement rumors, telling the Daily Mail in late 2025, "It's never gonna happen. They're going to be carrying him out in a hearse. He is not leaving the show."
