Cristo Fernandez, known for his role in the acclaimed Apple TV+ series "Ted Lasso," has made his professional football debut playing for American second-tier side El Paso Locomotive.

Fernandez previously played youth football in his native Guadalajara but stepped away from the sport at age 15 due to a knee injury. He later moved to London, where he was cast in "Ted Lasso," a show centered on an American football coach managing a fictional Premier League team, AFC Richmond.

Following his signing with El Paso Locomotive, Fernandez expressed his thoughts on returning to professional soccer. "This journey back to professional soccer is about believing in yourself, taking risks, and continuing to chase your dreams no matter how unexpected the path may be," he stated.

A fourth season of "Ted Lasso" is scheduled to begin on Apple TV on August 5.
