The Los Angeles Dodgers are adding a new ace to their pitching rotation with the acquisition of Tarik Skubal. President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman announced Sunday that the left-hander is scheduled to make his debut with the team on Tuesday in Chicago.

Skubal's first start as a Dodger will be at historic Wrigley Field against the Cubs, a fellow National League contender. Reports indicate the Cubs were also among the teams pursuing Skubal in the trade.

Following his debut in Chicago, Skubal's first start at Dodger Stadium is anticipated during the upcoming homestand, likely against the Kansas City Royals. He was expected to arrive at Dodger Stadium in time for Sunday night's game against the Boston Red Sox.

Skubal, who was with the Tigers for a road series against the Athletics in Sacramento on Saturday night, expressed mixed emotions about the trade. "I’m excited to be a Dodger," he said Saturday night. "I’m excited to get down there and meet all those guys, and chase three championships in a row."

The Tigers drafted Skubal in 2017, and he developed into a top pitcher during his time with the organization. He acknowledged being saddened to leave the team that drafted him but is looking forward to his new chapter in Los Angeles.
