Stefon Diggs remains unswayed by his current free agency status, asserting his readiness to compete in the upcoming NFL season. Diggs was released by the Patriots in March, and with training camps set to open in the coming weeks, he has not yet signed with a new team.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Diggs conveyed his confidence, stating, "My opinion, I can compete with anybody." He further challenged potential suitors by claiming, "You can’t name a No. 2 better than me," and dared any NFL team to pit their second-best wide receiver against him.
"Name your No. 2 receiver right now, and tell me how much he makes, and then my last question is: Is he better than me?" Diggs said.
Last season, Diggs recorded 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns during the regular season. He added 14 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' Super Bowl run.
Diggs's recent legal troubles included a criminal case involving allegations of assault by a private chef over a pay dispute. He was found not guilty in May following a two-day trial. The NFL also concluded its investigation into whether Diggs violated the league's personal conduct policy.
Despite these circumstances, it is anticipated that a team will sign Diggs before training camps commence. The 2026 season would mark Diggs's 12th year in the NFL, having previously played for the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and New England Patriots.
