St. John’s men's basketball has released its 2026-27 schedule, featuring a significant number of games at Madison Square Garden. The program, coming off consecutive Big East regular season and postseason championships, has added transfers Tounde Yessoufou from Baylor and Keyshawn Hall from Auburn, while retaining key players Ruben Prey and Ian Jackson. International prospects Quinn Ellis and Babacar Sane also join the roster.
Including exhibition games against Texas and Rutgers, the Red Storm is slated to play 14 games at the Garden. This includes a Dec. 5 matchup against Arizona, a national semifinalist last year. All 10 of St. John's Big East conference games are scheduled to be held at MSG. Head coach Rick Pitino had previously expressed a desire to hold all league games at the venue. Last season, St. John's played 13 games at MSG, its highest total at the current location since 1968, a number that will be surpassed this winter. In the two seasons prior to Pitino's arrival, the team played only nine games at the Garden.
A non-conference game against Iona is also on the schedule, potentially bringing the total to 15 Garden dates, though the site for that game is yet to be determined.
