Darren Rovell recounts missing the majority of Game 4 after believing the Knicks' championship hopes were dashed.
Sports business expert Darren Rovell revealed he left Madison Square Garden at halftime of Game 4 of the NBA Finals, missing the New York Knicks' historic comeback against the San Antonio Spurs.
Rovell, founder of Cllct and an investor in several companies, admitted on "The Craig Carton Show" that he had declared it "the worst game I have ever been to" as the Knicks trailed by 29 points. He stated his intention was to leave the game and return only if it was necessary for his "psyche."
The Knicks, down by a significant margin, staged a dramatic rally led by Jalen Brunson. The game culminated in OG Anunoby tipping in Brunson's missed free throw in the final seconds to secure a victory, a moment that secured the Knicks' first championship since 1973. This comeback is often compared to Ray Allen's pivotal three-pointer for the Miami Heat in the 2013 NBA Finals.
Following his departure from Game 4, Rovell traveled to San Antonio for Game 5, where the Knicks clinched the championship with a 94-90 win.
