A match in Uruguay's Segunda Division Profesional league resulted in a minor traffic accident when a soccer ball was kicked out of play and onto a busy street, leading to a collision between two vehicles. The incident occurred during a game between Uruguay Montevideo and Paysandu at Estadio Parque ANCAP.
Video circulating on social media shows the moment a Montevideo player attempted to clear the ball, sending it into Ruta Nacional Dr. Hugo Batalla. As the ball rolled across the road, vehicles slowed to avoid it. However, a white SUV, which had reduced its speed, was struck by a black truck.
The collision halted traffic for approximately 20 minutes. Estadio Parque ANCAP is located in the Pueblo Victoria neighborhood of Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, and has a seating capacity of 1,500.
In the match itself, Uruguay Montevideo secured a 1-0 victory over Paysandu.
