Gymnast Simone Biles recently returned to a hospital for a "procedure" weeks after experiencing a frightening medical emergency that she described as "almost dying." Biles shared a selfie on her Instagram Story from the hospital, accompanied by her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens. She praised Owens for taking her to the procedure on his birthday.
In the photo, Biles was wearing a hospital gown and cap, with Owens by her side, as they smiled for the camera. Biles added white hearts and happy-crying emojis to the post. The gymnast has not disclosed the specific cause of the medical emergency that led to her hospitalization last month, but she previously stated that the situation "could have ended very differently."
"This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life, especially since Jonathan was in [Indianapolis] for practices," Biles wrote at the time of the initial emergency. "I've been in bed resting this week. I'll explain sooner or later, but [shoutout] to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers."
Owens, a safety for the Indianapolis Colts, and Biles married in 2023. Owens' professional football career has sometimes required them to spend time apart. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and has played for multiple teams since then, including the Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears.
