Simone Biles has ignited speculation about a return to competitive gymnastics with a series of posts shared on social media from a training facility. The cryptic messages, posted two years before the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, suggest the decorated athlete may be considering a comeback.
Biles, 29, has not competed since the Paris Summer Games in 2024, where she secured three gold medals and a silver, expanding her Olympic medal count to 11. Her recent activity, including photos from the World Champions Centre in Texas, a gym owned by her parents, has fans buzzing.
One of the images showed a foam pit, beams, a trampoline, and a banner reading 'The World is Yours!'. In another post, Biles shared a glimpse inside her locker, which contained beauty products, a hand-drawn poster, a polaroid, and what appeared to be gymnastics equipment. She captioned the photo, 'Just how I left it,' accompanied by a stuffed goat.
While Biles has remained reserved about a potential return, she previously offered a tantalizing hint at the Ready25 conference last year when asked about competing in LA. Her response at the time was a simple, 'Never say never.' The gymnast was widely expected to conclude her illustrious career after the Paris Games.
If Biles were to compete in Los Angeles, she would make history as the first American gymnast to participate in four Olympic Games. During her time away from the sport, Biles has supported her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, during his season with the Indianapolis Colts, and has also explored new interests, including horseback riding and ice skating, as revealed in an interview last November.
