Shohei Ohtani Leads MLB Jersey Sales for Fourth Straight Season
The Los Angeles Dodgers star is the first player to achieve this distinction since sales tracking began in 2010.
Shohei Ohtani has become the first player to lead Major League Baseball jersey sales for four consecutive seasons, a streak that began in 2010 when the league first started tracking figures. Ohtani, a player for the two-time World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, is among four Dodgers players to rank in the top 20 for jersey sales.
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge placed second for the second consecutive season, according to data released Friday by MLB Players, Inc., an affiliate of MLB and the players' association. Judge had previously finished third in 2023 and 2024.
Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Chicago Cubs moved up to third place, a significant jump from his 16th position at the end of last season. Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Atlanta Braves secured the fourth spot, an improvement from 11th place last year.
Other players rounding out the top five include Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres at fifth. Following Tatis Jr. are Freddie Freeman of the Dodgers, Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies, Mookie Betts of the Dodgers, Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Dodgers, and Juan Soto of the New York Mets.
Munetaka Murakami of the Chicago White Sox was ranked 20th. Murakami, Ohtani, and Yamamoto represent the first trio of Japanese players to appear within the top 20 jersey sales.
Other notable players on the list include Corey Seager of the Texas Rangers at 11th, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays, Adley Rutschman of the Boston Red Sox, Kyle Schwarber of the Phillies, Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners, Elly De La Cruz of the Cincinnati Reds, Jackson Merrill of the San Diego Padres, and Nolan Arenado of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
