Serena Williams will compete in the US Open mixed doubles alongside Carlos Alcaraz, marking a significant pairing for the upcoming tournament at Flushing Meadows. The duo has been awarded a wildcard into the main draw.

Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, returned to professional tennis in June after a four-year hiatus. Since her comeback, she has participated in three doubles matches and made her singles return at Wimbledon, where she lost a three-set match to Maya Joint. Earlier this week, Williams and her sister Venus were eliminated in the doubles at the Cincinnati Open, their first match since Williams sustained a knee injury at Wimbledon.

Williams and Alcaraz, who collectively boast 44 Grand Slam singles and doubles titles, will now aim to make their mark in the mixed doubles competition.
