Wimbledon's Centre Court has become a venue for romantic proposals, with a second engagement taking place during Novak Djokovic's recent match against Arthur Rinderknech of France. Jonathan Clement proposed to his girlfriend, Juliet Berner, who accepted his offer. The couple was seen smiling in the stands, with Berner wearing a white dress.

This is the second proposal to occur during the current Championship. On Monday, during Djokovic's first-round match, a man in the crowd proposed to his girlfriend. Djokovic, upon witnessing the event during a break in play, gave the couple a thumbs-up and jokingly stated, "I want an invitation to the wedding." The couple reciprocated with a thumbs-up from the stands, and the moment gained significant online attention.

Proposals at major sporting events are not uncommon. A notable instance occurred in 1996 when a fan proposed to Steffi Graf at Wimbledon. More recently, Djokovic himself received a marriage proposal from a fan at the 2025 Australian Open, to which he responded by stating he was married and suggesting they could have a drink.

Djokovic, married to Jelena since 2014 and father to two children, recently advanced in the Wimbledon tournament. He defeated Wu Yibing of China in his opening match. Following the match, which was attended by Sir David Beckham, Djokovic reflected on the challenging nature of his first-round encounter. He acknowledged Wu's strong performance, noting that it felt more difficult than a typical first-round match and that Wu had surprised him with his play.

Djokovic is currently competing to become the oldest men's singles champion at Wimbledon since the Open era began in 1968. Roger Federer holds the record as the oldest champion in the Open era, winning at age 35 in 2017.
