Scottie Scheffler concluded his 2026 season by winning the Tour Championship and securing the FedEx Cup title, celebrating his victory with a rare beer and acknowledging the work of Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee.
After clinching his third win of the year and earning a $10 million bonus, Scheffler shared that he enjoyed a beer in the clubhouse before attending media obligations. "I had a beer for the first time in a long time. It just sounded good," Scheffler said. "Right when we got off the course, I got in there, these guys are trying to get me to do media and all this stuff. I was like: how much time do we really have? They're like we've got a couple minutes. All right, let me go inside and get some air conditioning. There was an open bar inside, and I'm like, all right, I'm grabbing a beer. It tasted great."
Scheffler, who typically abstains from alcohol during the season, noted that his wife and manager commented on his rare indulgence. "Well, season's over now. I'm going to have a beer. Well-earned beer," he added.
In his post-victory media session, Scheffler specifically praised Brandel Chamblee, a Golf Channel analyst known for his in-depth golf knowledge. Scheffler mentioned that he took a page of Chamblee's notes to show viewers. "Chamblee, like any great broadcaster, has his fair share of supporters and critics, but there is no denying that he is a walking encyclopedia of golf knowledge," the report stated.
The win marks another significant achievement for Scheffler, who has maintained the No. 1 world ranking for an extended period. His 2026 season included three victories and five runner-up finishes, accumulating $31 million before bonuses.
Scheffler's relaxed demeanor and public acknowledgment of Chamblee's contributions offered a glimpse into a less frequently seen side of the golfer, who is often perceived as intensely focused.
