Nat Sciver-Brunt scored an undefeated 67 as the Trent Rockets secured their place in the knockout stage of The Hundred with a commanding nine-wicket win against MI London at The Oval. Sciver-Brunt's innings, featuring nine fours and a six off 36 balls, was crucial in the Rockets' successful chase of 122 for victory.
This marked Sciver-Brunt's first half-century of the current tournament and her 11th overall in The Hundred. She formed a record second-wicket partnership of 118 with Beth Mooney, who contributed 54 not out from 44 deliveries, as the Rockets comfortably surpassed the target with 18 balls remaining.
The victory propelled the Rockets to four points above second-placed Southern Brave, setting up a potentially decisive final group match between the two teams. That game could determine direct progression to the final.
Earlier, Trent Rockets' bowling attack, spearheaded by Samantha Bates, restricted MI London to 121 for 5. Bates, a left-arm spinner, took three wickets for 13 runs, including the early dismissal of Hayley Matthews and two wickets in two balls that left MI struggling at 49 for 4. She trapped Kira Chathli, the top scorer with 31, lbw before Nicola Carey was stumped by Mooney.
MI London's recovery was led by Chinelle Henry and Alice Monaghan, who both finished on 27 not out, to post a challenging total. However, the Rockets' strong batting performance, anchored by Sciver-Brunt and Mooney, ensured a swift victory.
