Scottie Scheffler is on the cusp of becoming the PGA Tour's all-time leading money winner, a milestone he is approaching despite competing in hundreds fewer events than Tiger Woods.

Scheffler, currently ranked world No. 1, is now less than $1 million behind Woods' career PGA Tour earnings. This proximity comes after his victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday, which marked his second win of the 2026 season.

Woods, a 15-time major champion, has amassed $120,999,166 over 378 events since turning professional in 1996. Scheffler, in his eighth year as a professional, has earned $119.96 million in 168 events.

The 30-year-old Scheffler secured an eight-shot victory at the TPC Southwind, achieving the largest winning margin in the tournament's 68-year history and earning $3.6 million in prize money. This brought his 2026 season earnings to $20.5 million.

He has an opportunity to surpass Woods' record in the coming days. The PGA Tour schedule continues with the BMW Championship, a $20 million event where the winner receives $3.6 million. Scheffler is the defending champion and a favorite to win.

The season will conclude with the Tour Championship, featuring a $40 million purse and a $10 million prize for the winner. Scheffler has already secured a $23 million bonus by clinching the season-long points race with an event to spare.

While Scheffler is closing in on Woods' earnings record, he still has ground to cover in terms of career wins. Sunday's victory was his 21st on the PGA Tour, compared to Woods' 82.

Rory McIlroy is currently third on the all-time PGA Tour money list with $116.5 million.
