Major League Baseball announced Friday that Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, will be the host venue for the 2028 MLB All-Star Game. This marks the fourth time San Francisco has hosted the event, with previous years including 1961, 1984, and 2007.

The Giants franchise has a longer history with the All-Star Game, having hosted it in 1934 and 1942 when the team was known as the New York Giants. The upcoming 2028 game will be the sixth time the franchise has served as host.

"The San Francisco Giants are incredibly honored to host the 2028 MLB All-Star Game at Oracle Park," Giants president and CEO Larry Baer said in a statement. "We’re thrilled to welcome the baseball world to San Francisco and showcase our city, our organization, and our incredible fans. We’re grateful to Major League Baseball for this opportunity and look forward to creating an unforgettable All-Star experience for fans from San Francisco and around the world."

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred stated that San Francisco "will be an outstanding host for All-Star Week."

The 2026 MLB All-Star Game is scheduled to be held at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, with the 2027 game set for Wrigley Field in Chicago.

The announcement comes as the current San Francisco Giants team is experiencing a difficult season. As of Friday, the Giants had a record of 50-71, placing them 14th in the National League and 27th overall in MLB. The team is on track to finish with a losing record for the third time in four seasons and miss the playoffs for a fifth consecutive year.
