Samoa Joe Qualifies for AEW WrestleDream's Clockwork Carnage Match

Samoa Joe has earned a spot in All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) inaugural Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream, following his victory over Jack Perry in a qualifying bout on Tuesday night’s “Dynamite” special from Grand Slam France.

Joe secured his win against Perry with a Muscle Buster, pinning him for the victory. Perry had mounted a strong challenge, but Joe ultimately prevailed.

Will Ospreay, the current AEW World Champion, will defend his title in the Clockwork Carnage match. Ospreay also successfully defended his championship against Kazuchika Okada on the same night, guaranteeing his participation in the upcoming event.

Another qualifying match will see “Speedball” Mike Bailey face Ring of Honor Pure Champion Lee Moriarty. This contest is scheduled to air on Saturday’s “Collision” as part of the AEW Grand Slam France event.

AEW announced the Clockwork Carnage match format over the weekend. The match will feature eight wrestlers competing in a two-stage endurance test. Initially, two wrestlers will start, with an additional competitor entering every three minutes. Wrestlers are eliminated via pinfall or submission until all eight have entered the ring.

Following the entry of the eighth wrestler, the match will enter a 15-minute scoring period. During this time, each pinfall or submission will count as one fall. The wrestler with the most falls when the time expires will be declared the winner.

WrestleDream is scheduled to take place on Oct. 17 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
