Utah Jazz rookie Darryn Peterson revealed that his car was stolen from the driveway of an Airbnb where he was staying during the pre-draft process.

Peterson, the No. 2 overall pick in the recent NBA draft, shared the anecdote with ESPN's Chiney Ogwumike. "My whip, during the pre-draft, got [stolen] out of the driveway at the Airbnb I was staying at," Peterson said. "After it got took, I was like, ’I’m about to just get something else.’"

Following the theft, Peterson purchased a custom matte black Range Rover and stated he now keeps it in the garage. He has since embraced his professional career, making a strong debut in the NBA Summer League. Over five games, Peterson averaged 23 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game, ranking sixth in scoring for the summer circuit.

Peterson was selected by the Jazz after AJ Dybantsa was chosen first overall by the Wizards. During his college career at Kansas, Peterson averaged 20.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. He previously attributed cramping and availability issues during his college tenure to high doses of the supplement creatine.

The Jazz's preseason schedule begins Oct. 4 against the Denver Nuggets, and the regular season opens Oct. 21 at Memphis.
