Roman Reigns Retains World Title Over LA Knight at WWE Money in the Bank
The Bloodline and the 946 faction engaged in a chaotic brawl following Reigns' victory.
Roman Reigns successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight in a hard-fought match at WWE Money in the Bank in New Orleans on Saturday. The event, held at the Smoothie King Center, saw Reigns retain his title amidst a roaring crowd.
Knight's pursuit of a world title reached what was described as a potential "do or die" moment. The challenger demonstrated a strong offensive performance, executing moves like a jumping superplex and a Burning Hammer. Knight also narrowly missed securing a pinfall multiple times, including countering Reigns' spear with a BFT and powerbombing him through the announce table outside the ring.
Despite Knight's efforts and a surge in crowd support, Reigns ultimately maintained control. The decisive moment came when Reigns attacked Knight's groin area, leading to Reigns' subsequent victory with multiple Superman punches and a final spear. Reigns then asserted his dominance, reaffirming his position as the "supreme superstar" and "Head of the Table."
Following the match, an immediate confrontation erupted between Reigns' faction, The Bloodline (The Usos and Solo Sikoa), and the emerging 946 group, featuring Royce Keys, Lucien Price, and Bronco Nima. The brawl extended throughout the arena, with Jaida Parker intervening in an SUV to help the 946 members escape the fray. This post-match incident signals an impending conflict between the two factions.
