WWE SummerSlam 2026's second night is set to feature a highly anticipated World Heavyweight Championship rematch between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. The event, which will be broadcast on ESPN Unlimited, will also include a five-woman ladder match for the Interim WWE Women's Championship.
Interim Women's Championship Ladder Match
With Rhea Ripley sidelined due to injury, an interim WWE Women's Champion will be crowned. The match will feature current U.S. Champion Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Chelsea Green, Charlotte Flair, and Lash Legend. This contest is described as a stacked field and a potentially interesting match of the night, with the women's division having a history of high-stakes performances in ladder matches.
Intercontinental Championship Defense
Penta will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable. The Intercontinental Championship has a storied history, with past matches like Bret Hart vs. Curt Henning at SummerSlam in 1991 cited as classics. Penta has held the title since March, while Gable enters the match as a returning hero who apologized to the Luchadores after losing his mask. Gable is expected to perform well in his home state.
Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio
In a unique stipulation, Danhausen will face Dominik Mysterio in a "Human Monies on a Pole Match." The rivalry stems from Mysterio's desire to reclaim money he paid to "curse" one of his opponents. Danhausen, a fan favorite, is expected to bring an element of silliness to the match. This bout is anticipated to draw a strong reaction from the crowd in Minneapolis.
Number One Contender Match
Sami Zayn will face Finn Balor in a match to determine the number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Zayn previously held the title for nine days before losing it to CM Punk. Balor has been on a winning streak since joining SmackDown. The match is considered a toss-up, with Zayn's intensity potentially clashing with Balor's championship pedigree.
United States Championship Defense
Trick Williams will put his United States Championship on the line against Baron Corbin. Corbin recently returned to WWE and inserted himself into the title picture by interfering in a match between Williams and Carmelo Hayes. The presence of Carmelo Hayes could potentially influence the outcome of this championship defense.
World Heavyweight Championship Main Event
The main event will see Roman Reigns defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins. Reigns has successfully defended his title throughout the summer and has rebuilt The Bloodline faction. Rollins, a long-time rival, presents a significant challenge. The history between the two, stemming from their time in The Shield, is expected to play a role in their latest encounter.
Night 1 of SummerSlam 2026 reportedly featured Randy Orton's return, a victory for Oba Femi over Brock Lesnar, and the Bella Twins turning on Paige. The second night aims to build on the momentum from the first.
