Richarlison has informed Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi of his desire to leave the club, with the Brazilian forward seeking a new challenge. However, an approach from Turkish club Trabzonspor has failed to result in a transfer.

De Zerbi confirmed after Tottenham's defeat to Newcastle on Saturday that Richarlison was among three players who had expressed a wish to depart. The Turkish transfer window remains open until Friday, presenting a narrow window for potential moves.

Earlier this week, Richarlison shared a cryptic social media post stating, "I have decided that no one will ever again decide my future for me." He also posted an image with the text, "I am the villain of many poorly told stories."

Trabzonspor reportedly offered approximately £20 million for the forward, but Tottenham indicated they have not yet received a formal bid. The club had previously been in discussions about a potential £35 million move to Everton, but that deal did not materialize.

Richarlison was Tottenham's leading scorer last season, netting 11 Premier League goals and 12 across all competitions. His potential departure would continue a recent trend of Tottenham's top scorers leaving the club, following the exits of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and Brennan Johnson in recent seasons.

Trabzonspor has experienced a challenging start to their season, securing only one win in their first three league matches. The club also recently parted ways with manager Fatih Tekke after their elimination from the Europa League.
