Real Madrid has reached an agreement on personal terms with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, a development that follows Paris Saint-Germain's decision to withdraw their interest in the player.

Diomande, a 19-year-old international from Ivory Coast, had also attracted attention from Liverpool. The Premier League club reportedly had an initial bid of £69 million rejected in June. However, Liverpool has since pursued other targets, and PSG opted against engaging in a bidding war with Real Madrid. Reports indicate PSG had a final offer of £102.5 million rejected on Sunday.

Sources suggest Real Madrid's proposed contract for Diomande is structured similarly to that of England midfielder Jude Bellingham, featuring performance-based incentives that allow for year-on-year improvement. The transfer fee is expected to exceed £100 million. Diomande joined Leipzig last summer from Spanish club Leganes on a five-year contract.

Key negotiators for Real Madrid, Jose Angel and Juni Calafat, are said to have scouted Diomande for approximately five years. Diomande was named the Bundesliga's young player of the season for 2025-26, having recorded 12 goals and eight assists in the previous term. He moved from Ivory Coast to an academy in the United States in 2025 before joining Leganes.

RB Leipzig had made efforts to retain the forward but acknowledged the extraordinary interest from elite European clubs, making it difficult to decline potential record-breaking transfer offers.
