Ravens Rookie Receiver Ja'Kobi Lane to Undergo Wrist Surgery
The Baltimore Ravens will be without rookie wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane for approximately a month following surgery for a fractured wrist.
Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane is expected to undergo surgery to repair a fractured wrist and will be sidelined for nearly a month, according to CBS Sports. Lane's surgery could take place as early as Wednesday.
Lane, who was drafted by the Ravens in the third round out of USC, had been a notable presence during the team's offseason activities and training camp. The 6-foot-4 receiver was anticipated to be a significant red zone target for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
His debut in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts was cut short due to the wrist injury. In that game, Lane caught one of his three targets for 11 yards before exiting.
With Lane and Zay Flowers (hamstring) sidelined, the Ravens' receiving depth is being tested. The team's next available wide receivers on the depth chart include Rashod Bateman, Chris Moore, and Elijah Sarratt as they prepare for their upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints. A one-month absence could cause Lane to miss games against the Saints, Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans, and Atlanta Falcons.
