The New York Rangers have re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Vincent Iorio to a one-year contract, General Manager Chris Drury announced Friday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Iorio, 23, joined the Rangers after being claimed off waivers from San Jose on Jan. 31. He skated in six games with the team last season, recording no points. "I’m just grateful," Iorio said of joining the Rangers. "My parents, growing up, they really preached the 1 percent better each day and being happy with where you’re at in life. For me, playing this game is such a privilege. Playing in this league is such a privilege. Especially a team like New York."

Over his three NHL seasons, Iorio, a 2021 second-round pick of the Capitals, has recorded four assists in 36 career games. In the AHL, he has posted 11 goals and 52 assists over 196 games with the San Jose Barracuda and Hershey Bears, winning back-to-back Calder Cups with the latter in 2023-24.

Beyond his hockey skills, the 6-foot-4 defenseman also served as a stuntman for the Prime Video series “Off Campus,” filling in on-ice for the character of Garrett Graham. "Because I don’t have a face for TV, unfortunately," he told The Post in March.

Earlier this week, the Rangers signed fellow defenseman Scott Morrow to a one-year, two-way contract worth $850,000 at the NHL level. Both Iorio and Morrow face competition for defensive roles following the team's offseason trades for blueliners Sean Durzi and Marcus Petterson. Adam Fox, Durzi, and Braden Schneider are expected to fill established roles on the right side of the defensive pairings, leaving Iorio, Morrow, and Urho Vaakanainen to compete for potential backup positions.
