As the National Hockey League's free agency window prepares to open on Wednesday, July 1, the New York Rangers are reportedly exploring options to strengthen their roster. Three forwards have emerged as potential targets: Teddy Blueger, Mats Zuccarello, and Scott Laughton.

Teddy Blueger is being considered as a potential solution for the team's need for a fourth-line center. His departure from his previous team via trade last season leaves a vacancy that Blueger, described as a reliable two-way skater, could fill. His addition would also aim to bolster the team's penalty kill and improve their faceoff percentage.

Mats Zuccarello, a former teammate of Mika Zibanejad, is also on the Rangers' radar. Zuccarello played alongside Zibanejad for several years before being traded to Dallas in February 2019. At 38, Zuccarello has demonstrated continued production capabilities, and a one-year contract is considered a feasible option for the Rangers.

With existing uncertainties surrounding the team's center depth, the Rangers are also looking at Scott Laughton, a versatile forward capable of playing both center and wing. Laughton's ability to contribute offensively and his utility role make him an attractive prospect for the team.
