Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has been officially ruled inactive for Monday Night Football against the New York Giants. The team is citing hip and groin tightness as the reason for his absence, which developed late in the week following practice.
The injury leaves quarterback Matthew Stafford without his primary receiving target as the Rams aim to avoid an 0-2 start to the season. In Week 1, Nacua was a focal point of the offense, catching five passes for 74 yards in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers. With backup receiver Jordan Whittington also dealing with a quad injury, the Rams will likely increase the targets for Davante Adams and rely on reserves Tutu Atwell and Xavier Smith.
Conversely, the Rams' defense will receive a significant boost with the season debut of defensive tackle Aaron Donald. The veteran is coming out of retirement and is expected to play a limited role, managing around 30 snaps as he works back into game shape. Donald's return provides a major presence on the defensive line as the Rams face the Giants.
