Los Angeles Rams safeties Quentin Lake and Kam Curl have been vocal about the rapid growth of their teammate Kamren Kinchens, with both veteran players labeling the young defensive back as an "All-Pro" caliber player. Kinchens is entering his third NFL season and is being positioned for a potential breakout year, according to reports.

Kinchens was selected by the Rams in the 2024 NFL Draft and has appeared in 34 regular-season games over his first two years. Known for his ball-hawking abilities, he recorded 11 interceptions in two college seasons as a starter. In the NFL, he has secured six interceptions in a competitive Rams secondary.

"That's one of his gifts," Kam Curl told The Athletic's Nate Atkins. "The ball finds him." Atkins reported that Kinchens has demonstrated this during training camp, intercepting passes from veteran quarterback Stetson Bennett and reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford, often after deflections.

Quentin Lake elaborated on Kinchens' approach, stating, "We always talk about calculated risk: If you see it, go get it... Q, just go out there. Sometimes you're going to have to nut up and believe in it and go get it." This aggressive pursuit of turnovers has been a hallmark of Kinchens' game. Last season, two of his interceptions came in a Week 11 victory against the Seattle Seahawks, a performance that proved crucial in the 21-19 win.

Despite his success with interceptions, Kinchens acknowledged that his aggressive style can sometimes be a double-edged sword. "Last year was the first year I had to switch my mindset to, ‘You can’t get the ball on every down,’" Kinchens told Atkins. "There’d be games where I had great games but didn’t get my hands on the ball too much, and I’d be down on myself because that’s what I value."

Kinchens also attributed some of his recent success in training camp to the effectiveness of the Rams' pass rush, particularly since the acquisition of Myles Garrett. "It brings some more space for me to make some plays," Kinchens said.
