Los Angeles Rams linebacker Byron Young said that a potential return to the team by retired defensive tackle Aaron Donald would be a "dream come true." Young, who played alongside Donald during his rookie season, expressed his wish to play with the legendary defensive player again.

Young has not directly contacted Donald or attempted to recruit him back to the Rams. However, he acknowledged the possibility and his personal desire for it to happen. He described his experience playing with Donald as a "blessing," noting that Donald not only commanded double-teams but also imparted valuable lessons on navigating the emotional aspects of an NFL game. "He taught me to be patient," Young stated, "Understanding that every play has its own story. If you make a mistake, leave that play behind you and move on to the next one."

These lessons have remained with Young. He reiterated to the California Post on Monday that he has not spoken with Donald about a comeback and does not wish to place undue expectations on the player, whom he considers one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history. "He put his time in," Young said. "Whatever he decides, I'm behind him."

Despite Young's comments, he did offer a glimpse into what a Rams defensive front featuring Donald could look like. He envisions a scenario with Donald anchoring the middle, Myles Garrett rushing from one side, himself attacking from another angle, and Kobe Turner creating inside pressure. Young suggested this formidable lineup would present a significant challenge for opposing quarterbacks.

When pressed for more details about such a defensive unit, Young opted to defer. "We've got to wait and see," he said. "I don't want to put expectations out there, but it would definitely be fun to watch."
