Professional golfer Jessica Bang, 18, died on August 13 in Bangkok, Thailand, after suffering a brain hemorrhage during the KLPGA Tour's International Qualifying Tournament. Bang collapsed on the course on August 1 and was taken to Synphaet Ramintra Hospital, where she underwent emergency brain surgery.

Her family announced her death through a GoFundMe campaign created to cover medical expenses. The campaign described Bang as having a "cheerful and vibrant personality" and highlighted her "passion and dedication to golf."

Born in South Korea, Bang had achieved significant success early in her golf career. In November, she won her fifth professional start at the 2026 Ford Women’s NSW Open Regional Qualifying Event, shooting a final-round 65 to win by five strokes and set a course record. She also won the Queensland Amateur.

The WPGA Tour of Australasia issued a statement expressing condolences to Bang's family and friends. Bang had been placed on life support following her surgery.
