Porzingis Addresses Health Concerns, Denies HIV/AIDS Rumors

Kristaps Porzingis has broken his silence regarding his undisclosed health issue that led to his absence from the Golden State Warriors' preseason activities. The 31-year-old NBA veteran, who has been away from the team indefinitely, took to social media to address the mounting speculation and baseless rumors surrounding his condition.

Porzingis directly refuted suggestions that he is suffering from HIV or AIDS. "Everyone can relax now...and I don't have HIV or AIDS," he stated, aiming to put an end to what he described as wild theories from 'internet doctors.'

He further explained his situation, stating, "I'm working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I'm getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I'll be feeling great again soon." Porzingis acknowledged the frustration of dealing with unspecified health issues, compounded by his history of injuries, but expressed confidence in his recovery.

The Warriors organization previously issued a statement confirming Porzingis' return to the practice facility on October 14. General Manager Mike Dunleavy and Vice President of Player Health & Performance Dr. Rick Celebrini met with the forward/center. While the team acknowledged his presence and ongoing medical attention, they reiterated that his status remains indefinite.

"Porzingis will remain out indefinitely due to the same health-related matter but will be around the team," the statement read. "An update on his status, including the potential resumption of practice, playing status, or timeline, will be provided when available and appropriate."

Porzingis signed a two-year, $40 million contract with the Warriors this past summer. The team is preparing for its season opener on October 21 against the Los Angeles Lakers, and Porzingis' availability for the start of the season is still uncertain.
