England player Henry Pollock was at the center of a 30-man brawl during a rugby match between Leicester and Northampton at Welford Road. The incident occurred at halftime and saw Pollock involved in a confrontation with Leicester captain Ollie Chessum, who reportedly grabbed Pollock by the neck.

Pollock, who recently graced the cover of Tatler magazine, was substituted in the 53rd minute of the match. Leicester ultimately secured a 28-7 victory over their rivals. Leicester head coach Geoff Parling acknowledged the fight, stating it "can fire you up," but emphasized it was not something to rely on.

The match was played in difficult weather conditions, contributing to a physical contest. Northampton opened the scoring through James Pater, but Leicester responded with a penalty from Freddie Steward. The first half concluded with the mass melee, which some suggested ignited Leicester's performance in the second half.

Leicester's dominance in the second half was aided by a strong scrum. Tries from Jamie Blamire, Cameron Henderson, Finn Carnduff, and Steward secured the bonus-point victory for the home side. Despite the result, Northampton director of rugby Phil Dowson noted that such confrontations are part of the game's intensity and did not believe the halftime incident had a significant impact on the outcome, stating Leicester were "very good after half time."
