The Davie, Florida, Police Department has declared inactive an investigation into an incident involving New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith and a woman at his home on June 21. Police stated that no charges will be brought against Smith.
A report obtained by The Post indicates that the case was closed due to an inability to review surveillance footage, conflicting accounts from involved parties, and a lack of independent witnesses. The officer on the scene was unable to determine the primary aggressor in the physical altercation.
The investigation stemmed from a video posted to social media by a woman who claimed Smith had assaulted her and stolen money from her car. The woman's social media post alleged that Smith had broken her computer and thrown away her purse.
This accuser is not the mother of Smith's son. The mother later defended Smith, stating he is capable of caring for their child.
