Former NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress recently drew a parallel between his tenure with the New York Jets and his time spent in prison, stating that both felt like "loser" situations.
During an appearance on "The Joint Venture Show" with Lil Wayne and Craig Carton, Burress was asked to compare the two experiences. He responded that the feeling of being a "loser" was present on his first day in prison and every day he reported for duty with the Jets.
"They’re both kind of similar because when I walked into prison my first day, I was like, ‘Damn, man, you are a f–king loser,’" Burress said. "And I had the same damn feeling every day I walked through the door with the Jets. I was like, ‘Damn I hope we can win this weekend.’ Loser."

Burress played for the Giants from 2005 to 2008, famously catching the game-winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLII. His career with the Giants was cut short after he was convicted of illegal gun possession stemming from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. He served a 20-month prison sentence.
Following his release from prison, Burress signed with the Jets in 2011. He played 16 games for the team, starting three, and recorded 45 catches for 612 yards and eight touchdowns. The Jets finished the 2011 season with an 8-8 record and missed the playoffs.

After his year with the Jets, Burress signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012. He appeared in only four games before a training camp injury in 2013 ended his playing career.
"The Joint Venture Show" is a recently debuted program hosted by rapper Lil Wayne and radio personality Craig Carton. The episode featuring Burress was recorded at the Gotham Comedy Club in New York City and released on YouTube.
