Darts legend Phil Taylor, 66, has undergone a significant body transformation after discontinuing Mounjaro weight-loss injections and abstaining from alcohol. Taylor, who retired from professional darts in 2018, now follows a diet primarily consisting of salads and incorporates regular exercise into his routine.
Taylor shared details of his new lifestyle on The Smith Brothers: Not a Podcast, explaining his daily regimen. He begins his day with bottled water and electrolytes before a 1000-meter rowing session, followed by 5,000 steps on a treadmill. He also consumes a daily mushroom-based drink, which he noted has not yet shown specific benefits but he continues to take.
"I went on Mounjaro for a month and a half," Taylor said. "It changed my mindset 100% where I went off. I was drinking Vodka every night. I went off that. I didn't want it at all. So I'm teetotal now."
He now opts for non-alcoholic beverages like 0% Budweiser, which he notes contains only 46 calories. For meals, Taylor has adopted a preference for salads, particularly chicken salads, aiming for 30-50 grams of protein with his meals, a significant shift from his previous habits.
Taylor, nicknamed 'The Power,' is widely regarded as the most successful darts player in history, holding records for 16 World Championships and 87 major titles. While he has started practicing darts again, playing about an hour a day, he stated that returning to the professional circuit is not feasible, comparing the challenge to that faced by other players who have dropped off the tour.
