St. John's has added Peyton Siva to its coaching staff as an assistant coach, according to a report by Zach Braziller of The Post. Siva, a former player under Rick Pitino at Louisville, will join Pitino's team for the upcoming season.

Siva played for Pitino at Louisville from 2009 to 2013, culminating in a NCAA championship victory in the 2012-13 season. After his collegiate career, Siva was selected by the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the 2013 NBA Draft. He played one season in the NBA before embarking on a decade-long professional career overseas.

Upon retiring from his playing career, Siva returned to Louisville in 2024 as an assistant coach. The move to St. John's marks his return to working with Pitino.

This coaching staff addition comes shortly after St. John's filled its general manager position with Steve Masiello. Masiello, who had been serving in the role for the previous two months, will also continue as an assistant coach on Pitino's staff.
