Marshall Manning, son of NFL legend Peyton Manning, has been named the backup quarterback for his high school team, the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The freshman will begin his high school football career behind rising senior Keegan Croucher, who is committed to Ole Miss and ranked as a four-star recruit.

Baylor head coach Erik Kimrey confirmed Manning's role on the "Villamarzos Voice" podcast. "Marshall Manning is our backup quarterback this year," Kimrey stated. "He'll be a freshman. So, we're excited about him."

Manning comes from a prominent football family. His father, Peyton, is a two-time Super Bowl winner, and his uncle Eli also won two Super Bowls. His grandfather, Archie Manning, had a lengthy NFL career as a quarterback. Additionally, Marshall's cousin, Arch Manning, is a highly-touted college quarterback at Texas, potentially in contention for the No. 1 overall NFL draft pick in 2027.

The Baylor School boasts a successful football program, having gone undefeated with a 12-0 record and secured a state championship last year. Marshall Manning previously attended Kent Denver School in Colorado. Earlier this year, a video circulated showing Manning displaying arm strength during a training session with QB Country, featuring impressive throws while on the move.
