Packers Wide Receiver Christian Watson Hospitalized After Mid-Game Injury

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson was taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons after sustaining a chest injury during the second quarter of Thursday night's game against the Carolina Panthers. The injury occurred on a 53-yard reception when Watson was hit by Panthers defensive backs Zakee Wheatley and Will Lee III.

Watson remained on the field following the play, but was able to walk to an ambulance on the Lambeau Field tarmac. The team initially listed him as questionable to return with a chest injury. Early in the second half, Prime Video reported that Watson had returned from the hospital after tests cleared him.

On the same play, Lee also sustained an injury and was helped to the sideline by medical staff before being carted off the field with a hamstring issue.

Prior to exiting the game, Watson had been a key contributor for the Packers, leading the team with six receptions for 100 yards by halftime. This marked his third game this season with over 100 receiving yards. The Packers have faced other receiver injuries this season, with Jayden Reed suffering a season-ending neck injury in Week 2.
