Packers' Jayden Reed Undergoes Season-Ending Neck Surgery

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is expected to miss the remainder of the NFL season after undergoing surgery for a neck injury. The 26-year-old suffered the injury during the Packers' Week 2 victory against the New York Jets.

Reed was hit awkwardly by the Jets' Demario Davis and remained motionless on the field before being attended to by medical staff. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital for observation and evaluation, with initial reports confirming he had feeling and movement in his extremities.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that Reed will require surgery for the injury. While LaFleur stated that Reed's career is not believed to be in jeopardy, the surgery will sideline him for a significant period, effectively ending his current season. "Any time you go through a situation like that, it's a pretty scary deal," LaFleur commented on the incident. "It jolts you a little bit because you never want to see anybody in that position, let alone one of your own guys."

Reed himself posted on X (formerly Twitter) following the incident, stating, "Doing much better, appreciate all the prayers and support." His girlfriend, Aneisha Cox, also shared an update on her TikTok account, describing the recovery as "day-by-day" and expressing gratitude for divine intervention.

Cox detailed the emotional toll of witnessing the injury and her rapid travel to be with Reed, emphasizing the support systems in place for players and their families during such crises.
