WWE superstar Omos is set to face Rey Mysterio at AAA's TripleMania 34 in Las Vegas this Friday, marking his continued involvement with the Mexican wrestling promotion.

Omos, who has not appeared in a WWE ring for two years, has been pursuing projects with other promotions. Following a stint with Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan, he debuted at AAA's Triplemania 33 last year, winning the Bardahl Cup. He recently spoke with OutKick about his experience and upcoming match.

"Me coming to AAA, I had a chance to go to Japan last year for Pro Wrestling Noah and I think that prepared me for AAA," Omos stated. "Going out there, experiencing a new culture, speak little-to-no Japanese but being able to immerse myself in that wrestling culture, which is all the same boat. It’s also very unique in its own ways. It was a phenomenal experience so I think that helped me."

Omos was suspended from AAA following an incident involving Mysterio, who holds the position of AAA general manager. The rivalry escalated when Omos appeared as a paid spectator in the crowd and became involved in the action.

He is scheduled to compete on Night 1 of Triplemania 34 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, where he aims to regain his roster spot. "I am excited to hand out the greatest a— whooping of this lifetime to Rey Mysterio. I am thrilled," Omos vowed.

Despite Mysterio's renowned status as a WWE legend and a prominent figure in Lucha Libre history, Omos expressed indifference. "No, I don’t give a damn. It doesn’t matter, no," he said when asked about Mysterio's accolades. The promotion has described the matchup as a "David and Goliath story."
