Trinidad Chambliss, the quarterback for Ole Miss, has issued a public apology after his post-game interview following the team's victory against LSU drew criticism.

Chambliss led Ole Miss to a 3-0 start to the season, positioning himself as a top contender for the Heisman Trophy. The Rebels secured a 32-24 win over LSU in a highly anticipated game played in Oxford, Mississippi. Chambliss threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns in the contest against his former coach, Lane Kiffin.

Immediately after the game, Chambliss was interviewed on the field by ESPN reporter Holly Rowe. While he praised God and his team's preparation, his interview concluded with an expletive. "Thank you so much. Hotty [expletive] toddy!" he exclaimed before joining his teammates to celebrate.

Following backlash regarding his language on live television, Chambliss addressed the incident on Sunday. "Emotions were high," he stated. "That's the best play in football, you know, being in victory formation. But yeah, my emotions were high after the game. I got kind of caught up in the moment with the interview. That's not who I am, so I deeply, I'm deeply apologetic to Holly Rowe and, you know, everyone out there who was listening. That's not who I am."

This marks the second consecutive week that Holly Rowe has been involved in a post-game interview that resulted in an apology from a prominent figure. The previous week, after Texas upset Ohio State, Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian reportedly declined an interview. Subsequently, quarterback Arch Manning made a comment about an AI-generated edit of that exchange, which depicted Sarkisian slapping Rowe. Manning later issued an apology on Instagram for his "insensitive comment" and "hurtful" words, acknowledging he needed to "be better and will be more thoughtful moving forward."
