Oklahoma Stuns Top-Ranked Texas in Red River Rivalry Upset

The unranked Oklahoma Sooners secured a dramatic 27-24 upset victory over the No. 1 Texas Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry on Saturday. The win came in walk-off fashion after a crucial missed field goal by Texas and two fourth-quarter interceptions thrown by Texas quarterback Arch Manning.

Texas held a 17-7 lead at halftime, with Manning contributing a 41-yard touchdown pass early in the game. However, the Longhorns' offense stalled in the second half, allowing Oklahoma to mount a comeback. The Sooners tied the game in the fourth quarter with a touchdown run by Lloyd Avant.

Manning's struggles continued when his pass was intercepted by Oklahoma's Peyton Bowen and returned for a 42-yard touchdown, giving the Sooners a 24-17 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining. Texas managed to tie the score again with 6:32 left after a touchdown pass from Manning.

With possession and a chance to take the lead late in the game, Texas drove into field goal range. However, a 52-yard attempt sailed wide right, giving the ball back to Oklahoma with under two minutes to play. After forcing a punt, Texas had another opportunity to win, but Manning's second fourth-quarter interception ended that threat.

Oklahoma then drove into field goal range with seconds remaining. Kicker Tate Sandell converted a 47-yard field goal as time expired to seal the victory for the Sooners.

The loss marks the first of the season for the Longhorns, impacting their standing in the SEC. Oklahoma improves to 3-2 on the season with the significant conference win.
