Norway's national soccer team has relocated hotels in South Florida as they prepare for a critical World Cup semifinal match against England. The team moved from the Dalmar Hotel in Fort Lauderdale to a new location closer to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. This decision was prompted by player requests citing noise and disruption from a nearby construction site and a busy road outside their original accommodations.
A team representative stated that while the move was "brutal," the players are now satisfied and happy with the new hotel. "We wanted to take action as soon as possible. Having a good atmosphere is most important," the representative told Fox News Digital. The team has been in the United States for six weeks and is focused on the upcoming match, described as the biggest in Norwegian history. FIFA has approved the hotel switch and agreed to cover the cost of 50 rooms and security at the new venue, with the Norwegian Football Association responsible for any additional charges.
Norway advanced to the semifinals after defeating Brazil in the Round of 16, a victory fueled by two second-half goals from star player Erling Haaland. This tournament marks Norway's fourth World Cup appearance and their first since 1998. The team's success, including their first-ever advancement past the Round of 16, has garnered significant attention in their home country.
The team has also reportedly been dealing with a recent illness among some players, adding to the pre-match challenges.
