Norway head coach Stale Solbakken displayed visible frustration during the World Cup quarter-final match against England, launching a water bottle towards his own backroom staff after Jude Bellingham scored the equalizer for England just before halftime.
England's equalizer came in first-half stoppage time when Bellingham penetrated the Norway penalty area and finished with his left foot, leveling the score after Norway had initially taken the lead through Andreas Schjelderup's cross. The manner of the conceded goal prompted Solbakken's outburst.
Solbakken's frustrations continued into halftime, as he was seen remonstrating with French referee Clement Turpin. His annoyance may have escalated further in the second half when Norway had a goal disallowed. Torbjorn Heggem had found the net from a corner, but the goal was disallowed due to an adjudged foul by Erling Haaland on Elliot Anderson before the ball was in play.
Bellingham later scored the decisive goal early in extra time, compounding Solbakken's frustrations. The winner of this quarter-final tie is set to face either Argentina or Switzerland in the semi-final on Wednesday in Atlanta.
