Nets guard Nolan Traore will not participate in the upcoming Summer League after recently undergoing a scope on his right knee, General Manager Sean Marks announced Monday. Traore sustained the injury during his rookie season.

Marks stated that the team expects the 20-year-old guard to make a full recovery and be ready for training camp in the fall. Traore was one of five first-round picks for the Nets in 2025. He averaged 8.9 points per game last season, shooting 38 percent from the field.

In other team news, the Nets have re-signed forward Josh Minott and extended center Day’Ron Sharpe. Sharpe agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal after spending his first five seasons with Brooklyn. He averaged a career-high 8.7 points last season and is expected to see increased opportunity following the departure of Nic Claxton.

Minott, acquired from the Celtics, is staying with the Nets on a two-year, $9 million contract. He averaged 10.8 points per game last season. The team also exercised its team option on guard Malachi Smith, who averaged 8.3 points per game and started four games last year.

Marks acknowledged that last season, where the Nets won 20 games, was part of a continued rebuild. He expressed optimism about the team's trajectory, emphasizing the importance of establishing a strong culture. "Go out there, roll the ball out, and we’ve seen it before many years ago, when all of a sudden these guys feed off each other, the energy is palpable in the gym, and that’s important," Marks said. "We start establishing a real culture, and these guys are grinding and competing not only in practice, but they’re competing out there on the court, and that’s what I want to see."
