Nike has officially launched a new collection of footwear and apparel inspired by the late Kobe Bryant's connection to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The line features the Kobe 5 Protro and Air Force 1 Protro models, incorporating Dodgers-inspired colors, baseball stitching, and Bryant's signature elements.
The Hyper Royal Kobe 5 Protro is a reimagining of one of Bryant's popular signature models, detailed with wolf grey accents and red stitching that echoes baseball seams. Complementing the Kobe 5 Protro is the Wolf Grey Air Force 1 Protro, which also features blue accents, red stitching, Bryant's number 8 on the heel, and his signature throughout the design.
Beyond sneakers, the collaboration extends to baseball equipment, including batting gloves, cleats, wristbands, and catcher's gear, all sharing the same blue, grey, and red color scheme.
Nike celebrated the collection's release during the Dodgers' home series against the Boston Red Sox. The launch also anticipates Mamba Day, observed annually on August 24th, a date significant to Bryant's legacy.
Los Angeles residents will have exclusive early access to the collection at the Mamba Invitational event on August 8-9. The full collection will be available globally on August 15.
The Kobe 5 Protro will retail for $180 in North America and $190 internationally, while the Air Force 1 Protro is priced at $150 in North America and $160 globally. Both models will be offered in extended unisex sizing, from men's 3.5 to 18.
